Abstract(s)
Despite its features, the violin has been used as a polyphonic instrument numerous times throughout the history of music. It was, therefore, necessary to create a set of interpretative practices, which were adapted to the needs of different discourses and aesthetic, and that here we systematize. A contextualized historical perspective, the instrument and repertoire, shows the paths of development that is also educational and social. The systematization of execution models of chords and some basic principles of interpretation of the polyphonic text suggests solutions that deviate from the need for simultaneous harmonic, as desired in the nineteenth and twentieth century’s.
