Abstract(s)
Crowdfunding is a form of collective financing where capital is raised for a project through a group of investors who have an interest in the product and who intend, or not, to obtain some kind of reward. This source of funding can be very advantageous especially for projects, start-ups, and small companies that are entering the market. The problem that was the object of study in this dissertation was: how can crowdfunding work as an entrepreneurial enabler? In order to answer this question, a mixed methodology was used, with a quantitative analysis of the database of campaigns running on the PPL platform, and a qualitative analysis through interviews with 12 entrepreneurs who used crowdfunding for their projects. The data obtained allowed us to analyze the interviewees' experiences, the reasons why they used the methodology, the difficulties they experienced during the campaign and the benefits they obtained in their projects using crowdfunding methodology. The 12 entrepreneurs interviewed believe that crowdfunding served not only as a financing tool, but also as an enabler of their projects, as it allowed them to promote and disseminate their projects, obtain feedback from investors and grow their projects. It is concluded that crowdfunding boosts entrepreneurship, being used as a method to obtain funding, but also to promote and communicate projects, thus reaching a large number of people and promoting the growth and viability of projects.
