Abstract(s)
Nowadays, due to the complexity of the relationships with external entities and the highly competitive business environment, it is necessary for companies to collaborate in order to survive. While value creation can be seen as the ultimate motivation for possible collaboration, researchers question the potential of collaboration to truly create value. The main objective of this dissertation is to analyze the effects of interorganizational collaborations in the creation and destruction of Intellectual Capital in relation to a civil construction SME within a certain period of time. According to the purpose of the study, two research questions were elaborated: "How is the Construction Capital of a construction company created or destroyed over time?" And "What is the effect of an interorganizational collaboration with a media actor exercise on Intellectual Capital of a construction company? " In order to answer the two questions asked, a case study was carried out in a construction company. In order to materialize the study, a triangulation was made between the data obtained in interviews and informal discussions, documentary analysis and direct observation. In addition, a questionnaire survey was conducted as an additional source. The case study allowed us to conclude that interorganizational collaboration through a franchise with a good reputation cause, in the long term, positive effects in terms of Intellectual Capital in the construction company. It was verified that Relational Capital, one of the higher category component of Intellectual Capital, was the most positively affected in the company. On the other hand, at the beginning of the collaboration, there were negative effects in relation to Intellectual Capital, more concretely in the Human Capital component.
