| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação foi desenvolvida no âmbito de um estágio curricular realizado na INPLAS, tendo como finalidade apoiar a implementação da metodologia Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) e dos princípios do Lean Manufacturing, com vista à redução dos tempos de setup, à padronização dos processos e à melhoria da eficiência operacional. O trabalho iniciou-se com uma revisão bibliográfica, abrangendo os temas do Lean Manufacturing, da metodologia Single- Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), de ferramentas complementares de melhoria contínua e de métodos de medição de desempenho. Subsequentemente, procedeu-se à análise da situação atual da empresa, das atividades desenvolvidas pela equipa SMED e dos processos produtivos associados. Com base nos problemas identificados e nas necessidades manifestadas pela organização, foram implementadas diversas ações de melhoria, nomeadamente a reorganização e reimplementação das check-lists SMED, a criação de uma nova área SMED, a melhoria do controlo visual e logístico dos moldes e do material de peças de reposição (MPR), bem como, a análise do sistema de abastecimento centralizado de matéria-prima, complementada por propostas de melhoria e pela implementação de controlos visuais. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram uma melhoria na organização dos processos, um maior controlo sobre as atividades realizadas, a redução de desperdícios de tempo e a identificação de oportunidades de melhoria a explorar em intervenções futuras. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | SMED IMPROVEMENT IN PLASTIC INJECTION MANUFACTURING IN A COMPANY FROM THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR This dissertation was developed within the scope of an internship, carried out at INPLAS, that aimed to support the implementation of the Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) methodology and Lean Manufacturing principles, with the purpose of reducing setup times, standardizing processes, and improving operational efficiency. The work began with a literature review, covering Lean Manufacturing, the Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) methodology, complementary continuous improvement tools, and performance measurement methods. Subsequently, an analysis of the company's current situation, the activities carried out by the SMED team, and the associated production processes were conducted. Based on the identified problems and the needs expressed by the organization, several improvement actions were implemented, namely the reorganization and reimplementation of SMED checklists, the creation of a new SMED area, the improvement of the visual and logistical control of molds and maintenance replacement parts (MPR), as well as, the analysis of the centralized raw material supply system, complemented by improvement proposals and the implementation of visual controls. The results obtained demonstrated improvements in process organization, greater control over the activities performed, a reduction in time-related waste, and the identification of improvement opportunities to be explored in future interventions. | por |
