dc.description.abstract | Tourism is a vulnerable sector in many aspects, either by nature factors or by human factors such as wars, rebellions, or terrorism, being the image of tourist destinations a fundamental asset for territories trying to attract tourists and wealth. Some recent studies concluded about the obvious negative impacts from terrorism to tourism, affecting costs regarding later protection and promotion, while others consider that terrorism may not impact tourism because of the iconic destination reputation. This article aims to discuss recent trends in the literature review addressing perspectives of 2019 and 2020 studies, published in the context of tourism, terrorism, political instability, and behaviour of tourists towards the intention of travelling. The conclusions present suggestions for approach in future studies, minimizing the impact of large destructive occurrences on destinations. | pt_PT |
