O presente ensaio versa sobre o processo de produção da curta-metragem
O Abafador, desde o primeiro momento até a fase da distribuição. Numa primeira
fase do trabalho, aborda-se o papel do produtor no cinema, atribuindo um especial
destaque ao momento específico da escolha da localização para a rodagem.
Para entender a importância das parcerias com entidades locais na
produção cinematográfica, foi realizado um estudo qualitativo por questionário a
oito produtores e realizadores que trabalham em Portugal. A análise das respostas
revela as principais preocupações dos produtores no momento em que iniciam
novos projetos audiovisuais e a forma como procuram agir nesses momentos.
Na última parte do ensaio são descritas as funções que o autor deste
trabalho executou enquanto diretor de produção da curta-metragem O Abafador,
nomeadamente os problemas com que se deparou e as estratégias encontradas
para os solucionar.
This essay deals with the production process of the short film O Abafador, from the first moment to the distribution phase. In the first chapter, the role of the producer in filmmaking is addressed, giving special emphasis to the specific moment of selecting the shooting location. To understand the importance of partnerships with local entities in film production, a questionnaire survey was conducted with eight producers and directors based in Portugal. The analysis of the answers reveals the producers” main concerns when starting new audiovisual projects and what is their approach in these moments. The last part of the essay describes the tasks that the author of this work performed as production director of the short film O Abafador, namely the problems encountered and the strategies found to solve them.
