O impacto do Lean na segurança das organizações

| dc.description.abstract | A segurança ocupacional é uma das grandes preocupações nos dias que correm, é uma importante questão social que tem implicações financeiras para as organizações, para os funcionários e para a sociedade. Mas, embora a segurança ocupacional seja uma preocupação importante, a gestão de topo das organizações geralmente prioriza a redução de desperdícios e custos. Portanto, há a necessidade de alguma técnica que reduza o desperdício e simultaneamente melhore a segurança ocupacional. O lean tem sido eficaz na redução de desperdícios e custos. Alguns investigadores mostraram que o lean também pode melhorar a segurança ocupacional. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar se, nas organizações onde existem ferramentas lean implementadas, houve melhoria nas condições de segurança ocupacional, nomeadamente na diminuição dos índices de sinistralidade e verificar quais as ferramentas lean que mais contribuem para essa melhoria. Foi realizada uma pesquisa através do envio de um questionário a 1600 organizações portuguesas, de norte a sul e ilhas, potencialmente com ferramentas lean implementadas. No total conseguiu-se respostas de 189 organizações, 59 das quais com ferramentas lean implementadas, passando a ser consideradas como respostas válidas para o estudo. Através da análise estatística efetuada aos dados obtido, verificou-se que não há organizações que tenham piorado os índices, algumas mantiveram os índices e um número razoável atestou que os índices sofreram alteração de melhoria, destas, na sua grande maioria disseram que os índices de sinistralidade diminuíram 20%, sendo este o valor que estatisticamente apresentou melhores resultados em termos de alteração. Foi aplicado o teste de KW aos 3 índices de sinistralidade e verificou-se que havia diferença entre grupos para as variáveis certificação em segurança e anos de certificação em relação ao Índice de Incidência. Apenas com este teste não se conseguiu afirmar se essas diferenças tinham um determinado padrão linear. Optou-se por fazer uma comparação de médias. Não se conseguiu afirmar que o Ii aumenta à medida que os anos de certificação em segurança também aumentam, o que se conseguiu afirmar foi que para as organizações que participaram no estudo, há mais impacto das ferramentas lean na melhoria do índice de incidência nas que são certificadas e cuja certificação ocorreu no intervalo de datas entre 5 e 10 anos. Foi possível demonstrar que as ferramentas lean têm impacto positivo na segurança ocupacional das organizações, através da diminuição dos índices de sinistralidade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Occupational safety is a major concern these days, it is an important social issue that has financial implications for organizations, employees and society. But while occupational safety is a major concern, top management usually prioritizes waste and cost reduction. Therefore, there is a need for some technique that reduces waste while improving occupational safety. Lean has been effective in reducing waste and costs. Some researchers show that lean can also improve occupational safety. The objective of this work was to determine if, in areas where lean tools are implemented, there was an improvement in occupational safety conditions, especially in the reduction of accident rates and to verify which tools the lean tools that contribute the most to this improvement. A survey was conducted by sending a questionnaire to 1600 Portuguese organizations, from north to south and islands, potentially with lean tools implemented. In total, responses were obtained from 189 organizations, 59 of which had lean tools in place and were used as valid responses to the study. Through the statistical analysis of the data obtained, it was found that there are no organizations that have worsened the indexes, some maintained the indexes and a reasonable number attested that the indexes have changed, most of them said that the indexes of claims decreased by 20%, which is the value that statistically showed the best results in terms of change. The KW test was applied to the 3 accident indices and it was verified that there was difference between groups for the variables certification in safety and years of certification in relation to the Incidence Index. Only with this test could it not be said whether these differences had a certain linear pattern. We opted to make a comparison of averages. It could not be stated that Ii increases as years of safety certification also increase, but it could be stated that for the organizations participating in the study, there is more impact of lean tools in improving the incidence rate in which they are certified and whose certification occurred in the date range of 5 to 10 years. It has been shown that lean tools have a positive impact on the occupational safety of organizations by decreasing accident rates. | pt_PT |
