Abstract(s)
Atualmente, em qualquer indústria, existe uma enorme preocupação com a gestão de recursos e com a monitorização do estado e evolução do desempenho ao longo do tempo. Estes procedimentos são, muitas vezes, realizados através de plataformas digitais ou aplicações que fornecem uma forma rápida e intuitiva de visualizar e analisar toda a informação relevante. O mesmo se verifica na vertente desportiva, uma vez que é importante haver ferramentas que possibilitem a análise e a medição da evolução da condição física ao longo do tempo. Olhando concretamente para o mercado de plataformas de gestão e monitorização da performance no CrossFit, os conteúdos apresentados pelas mesmas não revelam funcionalidades únicas e inovadoras que permitam melhorar a experiência desportiva de quem as utiliza. Assim, este trabalho teve como principal objetivo o desenvolvimento de uma plataforma digital (aplicação) que permitisse o controlo, análise e registo do progresso desportivo ao longo do tempo. Esta solução vem responder às necessidades reais dos utilizadores deste tipo de plataformas, tendo em consideração não só os requisitos recolhidos juntos dos mesmos (através de inquéritos), como também a tecnologia já existente no mercado. Para tal, recorreu-se à plataforma de desenvolvimento low-code da OutSystems para se construir uma aplicação que fosse ao encontro das espectativas de gym owners, treinadores, sócios e atletas. Por outro lado, era importante implementar algo que permitisse a esta nova solução destacar-se da restante competição. Assim, após uma longa análise, chegou-se à conclusão que seria interessante envolver funcionalidades que abrangessem Machine Learning (ML). Após dez semanas de trabalho, duas vertentes da mesma aplicação foram desenvolvidas, nomeadamente, uma reactive web app e uma mobile app. A primeira é única e exclusiva para gestores e treinadores e a segunda é destinada apenas a sócios e/ou atletas. De um modo geral, a aplicação envolve a gestão dos serviços prestados pela box, a gestão de sócios e colaboradores, a criação de programas de treino específicos, o registo e análise de resultados e uma forma inovadora de registo de treinos pessoais, por partes dos utilizadores da vertente mobile, através do serviço cognitivo Computer Vision. Nos testes de aceitação por parte dos utilizadores foi possível constatar-se que a app desenvolvida correspondia às espectativas, mostrando-se ser uma opção bastante válida e útil no melhoramento da experiência desportiva no CrossFit e na análise e monitorização do desempenho ao longo do tempo.
In the current reality of the industry, there is a huge concern with resource management and with monitoring the status and evolution of performance over time. These procedures are often carried out through digital platforms or applications, which provide a quick and intuitive way to view and analyze all the relevant information. The same is true in the sporting aspect, once it is important to have tools that enable the analysis and measurement of the evolution of the physical condition over time. Analyzing specifically the market of management and performance monitoring platforms in CrossFit, their contents do not reveal unique and innovative features that improve the sporting experience of those who use them. Thus, the main goal of this project was the development of a digital platform (application) that would allow the control, analysis, and recording of sports progress over time. This solution considers not only the opinion of the users of this type of platform (collected through surveys) but also the technology already implemented on the market. To this end, OutSystems's low-code development platform was used to build an application that met the expectations of gym owners, coaches, partners, and athletes. On the other hand, it was essential to implement something that would allow this new solution to stand out from the rest of the competition. Thus, after extended analysis, it was concluded that it would be interesting to involve features that encompass Machine Learning (ML). After ten weeks of work, two aspects of the same application were developed: a reactive web app and a mobile app. The first is unique and exclusive to gym owners and coaches, and the second is intended only for gym members and athletes. In general, the application involves the management of the services provided by the gym, the management of its members and employees, the creation of specific training programs, the recording and analysis of results, and an innovative way of inserting personal workouts (mobile side only) through Computer Vision's cognitive service. In user acceptance tests, it was possible to verify that the app proved to be a solid and helpful option in improving CrossFit's sporting experience and analyzing and monitoring the performance over time.
