Abstract(s)
O processo de envelhecimento acarreta diferentes desafios, não só no domínio físico, como
também psicológico e social. Trata-se de uma etapa do ciclo vital particularmente vulnerável à
perda e ao risco, nomeadamente em pessoas em situação de vulnerabilidade social e eco nó mica.
Neste sentido, estruturas de base comunitária poderão revelar-se particularmente importantes
na prevenção da exclusão e isolamento.
O presente relatório procura espelhar o desenvolvimento do projeto "Novas Aventuras ... "
realizado com um grupo de mulheres num centro comunitário situado numa zona urbana no Norte
do País. Trata-se de um projeto que, suportado numa metodologia de investigação-ação
participativa, permitiu a identificação conjunta de três problemas fundamentais: o isolamento
social, o sedentarismo e a infoexclusão. Esta metodologia revelou-se particularmente útil, não só
para o desenvolvimento de um projeto próximo das pessoas e das suas vidas, como também
como instrumento de empoderamento.
A finalidade do projeto foi contrariar o sentimento de isolamento social e contribuir para um bemestar
social, afetivo e emocional das pessoas. Nesse sentido foram desenvolvidas três ações:
"Cruzamento de ldeias"; "Do conhecimento se faz sabedoria"; e "Do longe se faz perto". As ações
resultaram de uma co-construção processual possibilitada pela existência de um espaço seguro,
relações de empatia e de profundo respeito pelas pessoas e pelas suas escolhas.

In this sense, community-based structures can be particularly important in preventing exclusion and isolation. This report seeks to reflect the development of the "New Adventures ... " project carried out with a group of women in a community center located in an urban are a in the north of the country. This project, based on participatory action-research methodology, enabled the joint identification of three fundamental problems: social isolation, sedentary lifestyle and info-exclusion. This methodology proved particularly useful not only for developing a project that was elo se to people and their lives, but also as an instrument of empowerment. The aim of the project was to counteract the feeling of social isolation and contribute to people's social, emotional and emotional well-being. To this end, three actions were developed: "Crossing ldeas"; "From Knowledge Becomes Wisdom"; and "From Far Away Becomes Close". The actions resulted from a co-construction process made possible by the existence of a safe space, empathetic relationships and deep respect for people and their choices.
