Abstract(s)
tarefa, tempo, dados, sistema e humano.
In the context of this master thesis in project management, the work embarks on a three-part journey to comprehensively explore the world of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Each article within this study plays a distinct role in advancing our understanding of RPA and its practical implications. In the first article, the focus lies in providing an overarching view of the RPA landscape. We delve into the benefits and challenges associated with RPA implementation, emphasizing the critical role of project management in enhancing RPA project success. By drawing insights from extensive literature and real-world cases, we aim to establish a solid foundation for comprehending RPA's current state of the art. The second article takes a more theoretical approach by introducing a conceptual model for the evaluation and prioritization of RPA candidates. This model is meticulously designed, relying on five crucial dimensions: task, time, data, system, and human. Its objective is to facilitate a structured and data-driven process for identifying the most suitable tasks for RPA automation. The third article departs from theoretical constructs and delves into the practical realm. Here, the responses from a survey that investigates how companies assess, evaluate, and prioritize RPA candidates in real-world scenarios were analyzed. Additionally, it explored the success of RPA implementations within these companies, focusing on whether the proposed conceptual model proves beneficial for experts, project managers, and practitioners. Furthermore, it assesses the model's capacity for improvement and enhancement through insights gleaned from actual RPA practices. This empirical analysis lends invaluable insights into the dynamic landscape of RPA in organizations. Collectively, these three articles aim to contribute to a holistic understanding of RPA's current state, its application through a structured conceptual model, and realworld practices that can further advance the field of RPA and its integration into modern business operations.
