Este ensaio debate-se sobre a importância do cargo de assistente de realização em cinema e da sua presença num projeto desde uma fase inicial do mesmo. Na primeira parte do texto isto é feito explorando as várias funções desempenhadas pelo assistente de realização bem como as características e soft skills necessários a alguém que queira exercer este cargo. Na segunda parte, com base no trabalho desempenhado na curta-metragem A Eternidade e Uma Noite, são contextualizados e discutidos os aspetos mais
importantes da contribuição do assistente de realização à luz dos conteúdos apresentados na primeira parte, percebendo quais as vantagens do acompanhamento por parte deste, desde o desenvolvimento do guião.
This essay discusses the importance of the role of assistant director in cinema and of his presence in a project from an early stage. In the first part of the text, this is done by exploring the various functions performed by the assistant director as well as the characteristics and soft skills for someone wanting to exert this role. In the second part, based on the work performed in the short film A Eternidade e Uma Noite, the most important aspects of the contribution of the assistant director are contextualized and discussed based on the contents presented in the first part, realizing the advantages of his presence, since the development of the script.
