Abstract(s)
This dissertation was developed in collaboration with Continental Mabor - Indústria de Pneus S.A., a company that dedicates itself to the production of tires, mainly for the automotive industry, under the form of a curricular internship. The main focus of this project was to reduce the costs inherent to the use and maintenance of proportional valves for the vulcanization process, searching for ways to increase the Mean time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduce the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) of the latter. To reach that goal, most of the improvements were focused on the quality of the repairs, both internal as external, stock management as well as in the creation of tools, which includes gathering data, for carrying out more concrete studies about the current reliability of the valves. Although less emphasized, there were also carried out some improvements in the Engineering 5 workshop, mostly related to the aspects of organization and cleanliness, applying some of the tools associated with the Lean methodology.
