Abstract(s)
liderança, estabelecendo quais as principais competências, comportamentos, ferramentas e
e respetivos resultados do projeto.
No
With globalization and increasing competitiveness among organizations in today's society, it is essential for companies to focus on finding methods and techniques that allow them to manage their projects in order to implement and improve them over time. In this context, there is a growing importance of strategic project management aligned with the objectives of both the project and the organization. Leadership is crucial in all phases of project development. The leader must be able to adopt standards of behaviour, communication, and conflict management, as well as manage their team and make decisions that will be crucial for the efficiency and effectiveness of the project. Based on these premises, the main objective of this work was to outline leadership profiles, establishing the main competencies, behaviours tools, and techniques demonstrated by the project manager and their impact on team performance and project outcomes. To this end, and as theoretical support for the ongoing research, a bibliographic review was conducted on the topics of project management, leadership (analysis of six styles: laissez-faire, servant, transactional, transformational, democratic, and autocratic), project teams, and performance, as well as leadership tools, competencies, and techniques. Data was collected through the application of a case study methodology at the company Solutions 30 Portugal, using an online survey based on the PMBOK and individual interviews with the project managers of the organization in question. Finally, it was concluded that there were scattered traces of the six previously defined leadership profiles, and a predominant one could not be determined. Most managers demonstrated a substantial level of awareness regarding the application of behaviours, competencies, tools, and techniques recommended by the PMBOK. However, project and team management training were found to be a less explored aspect within the institution.
