Abstract(s)
Considered as revolutionary, BIM – Building Information Modeling – methodology uses informatic resources in order to build a collaborative environment in which professionals can develop their disciplines together with an integrated, parametric, interoperable and reliable model. Thus, the obstacles for its implementation have been overcome and BIM sets itself as the protagonist along the digitalization process in construction industry. Because of its little adoption between Brazilian technic culture, it is necessary to bring it as close as possible to the project practices in order to emphasize its benefits. That said, this study evaluated the contributions brought with BIM to a social housing undertaking of the Minha Casa Minha Vida – MCMV program through the tridimensional modeling and 4D and 5D simulations. It was also sought to introduce the concepts behind Sustainability evaluation through 6D simulations and the possibility for Facility Management within its 7th dimension. The results achieved are encouraging. The methodology adds performance to the team workflow, it brings greater automatization to the processes and control over projects.
