Abstract(s)
A dissertação apresenta uma revisão da literatura sobre as fontes de financiamento
disponíveis para as políticas culturais, incluindo financiamento público, privado e
colaborações internacionais, destacando as dificuldades das fontes de financiamento.
Utilizando uma metodologia qualitativa de estudo de caso, aliada a entrevistas, o estudo
foca na compreensão aprofundada das estratégias de financiamento da Fundação de
Serralves e os desafios enfrentados. Os resultados enfatizam a importância da
diversificação das fontes de financiamento, transparência e accountability na gestão dos
recursos culturais, além da necessidade de apoio através do mecenato.
Conclui-se que as políticas culturais que promovam a sustentabilidade financeira das
instituições culturais, juntamente com o fortalecimento das parcerias entre setor público,
privado e internacional, são essenciais. Fortalecer os incentivos fiscais para doadores e
promover práticas de financiamento sustentável são medidas adicionais para garantir a
viabilidade a longo prazo das instituições culturais.
Esta dissertação contribui para uma compreensão mais aprofundada das políticas culturais
em Portugal, visando promover o acesso equitativo à cultura e o desenvolvimento
sustentável do setor cultural no país.
The dissertation presents an use-case stutdy on the sources of financing available for cultural policies, including public and private financing, and international collaborations, while highlighting the difficulties of financing sources. Using a qualitative use-case study methodology, combined with interviews, the study focuses on an in-depth understanding of the Serralves Foundation's financing strategies and the challenges they faced. The results emphasize the importance of diversifying funding sources, having transparency and accountability in the management of cultural resources, in addition to the need for support through patronage. It is concluded that cultural policies that promote the financial sustainability of cultural institutions, together with strengthening partnerships between the public, private and international sectors, are essential. Strengthening tax incentives for donors and promoting sustainable financing practices are additional measures to ensure the long-term viability of cultural institutions. This dissertation contributes to a deeper understanding of cultural policies in Portugal, aiming to promote equitable access to culture and the sustainable development of the cultural sector in the country.
