Abstract(s)
A carência no domínio da consciencialização social no âmbito da reciclagem e reaproveitamento dos materiais assume-se como potenciadora da limitação de recursos existentes. Neste sentido, e visando contrariar a realidade expressa, a conjugação da tecnologia com finalidades sociais assume o tema central da presente tese de mestrado.
Evidenciada pelo desenvolvimento de um protótipo assente nas Reverse Vending Machine, a mesma visa ser capaz de responder às exigências económicas, sociais e ambientais, no que respeita à recolha de matérias plásticas e consequente retribuição ao consumidor. Versada nas tecnologias existentes e na revisão da literatura serão apresentados os domínios de hardware e software, neste último, evidenciando a análise de imagem assente nas caraterísticas de Haar e respeitando o algoritmo de AdaBoost e cascata de Classificadores bem como o seu treino. Este, visa a recolha de garrafas de plásticas introduzidas pelo utilizador após o processo de análise de um símbolo, selecionado numa fase precedente, e consequente retribuição do valor monetário da garrafa ao utilizador.
The lack of social awareness in the recycling area and reuse of materials is seen as a potentiator of the existing resources limitation. In this sense, and in order to counteract the expressed reality, the conjugation of technology for social purposes takes the central theme of this master thesis. Evidenced by the development of a prototype based on the Reverse Vending Machine, it aims to be able to respond to the economic, social and environmental requirements, regarding the collection of plastic materials and consequent retribution to the consumer. Based on the existing technologies and the literature review, the hardware and software domains will be presented, showing the image analysis based on Haar characteristics and respecting the AdaBoost algorithm and cascade of Classifiers as well as their training. This prototype collects plastic bottles introduced by the user, after the process of analyzing a symbol, and consequently retribution of the monetary value defined for the bottle to the user.
