Abstract(s)
The present work is a study of both structural suspension of an all utility vehicle, from a Portuguese company named SEMOG. After the first encounter with the vehicle, all the components were studied, so it could be understood the behavior of the vehicle. There was also some study in the market, to understand what, the competition, built as suspension geometries for their vehicles. While taking the necessary data, like length of the structures or the thickness of the tubes, every information was input in the Lotus Software Analysis to understand its kinetic behavior. After that, it was necessary to simulate all these components in a 3D environment, so therefore it would be able to test these components to a stress analysis in the SolidWorks software. By combining this simulation with Lotus Suspension Analyzer, the behavior of both suspensions was analyzed, and alterations were possible to be made. Every modification to the original structure was tested and verified to see if it brought advantages for its implementation.
