Assistimos a uma rápida transformação do circo contemporâneo em Portugal. Em cerca de dois anos surgiram vários festivais e eventos que incentivam a criação de novos espetáculos. A pesquisa para este Projeto baseia-se na experiência em campo na produção do Trengo festival de circo do Porto. Este Festival é um projeto da Erva Daninha e nasce de uma vontade de contribuir para a evolução do circo através da coprodução e compra de espetáculos. Nesta dissertação podemos ver o enquadramento social e político do projeto e as diferentes fases de desenvolvimento do Festival. Embora com algumas dificuldades, o Trengo 2018 acaba por revelar o seu potencial positivo para o desenvolvimento do circo contemporâneo em Portugal.
We witnessed a rapid transformation of the contemporary circus in Portugal. In about two years several festivals and events appeared that encourage the creation of new shows. The research for this Project is based on field experience in the production of the Trengo festival de circo do Porto. This Festival is a project of Erva Daninha and is born from a desire to contribute to the evolution of the circus through the coproduction and purchase of shows. In this dissertation we can see the social and political framework of the project and the different development phases of the Festival. Although with some difficulties, Trengo 2018 reveals its positive potential for the development of the contemporary circus in Portugal.
