Abstract(s)
questionários aplicados in loco e on-line a 72 pessoas (44 pais e 28 filhos). Os resultados
revelam que entre os pais o uso da internet é voltado para aumentar o conhecimento;

To this end, it seeks to identify the typology of Use and Gratification that military families receive when exposed to online, the devices connected to the internet that they use at home, the time to view the contents, the physical space where they use it, the activities they, children and parents, do it on the internet, the reasons why they use it and if families feel dependent on the internet. The literature review was developed with consultations to physical and virtual databases to support the theme. In order to answer the research question and research objectives, it was decided to conduct a case study with a quantitative exploratory approach, and the data collected using a survey, using questionnaires applied in loco and online to 72 people (44 parents and 28 children). The results revealed that among parents the use of the internet is aimed at increasing knowledge; watch newscasts, debates, interviews; consult information on military and security issues; send and receive e-mails; buy services or products over the internet, aiming at the conscious use and appreciation of traditional means of interaction. In contrast, the children used the internet to play; watching videos and entertainment programs; participate in social networks; perform schoolwork; meet people and send instant messages. In this sense, children also use it in order to seek information, but the greatest use is for entertainment. In view of these results, it is suggested the creation of an education line aimed at the conscious use of the media and a leisure environment with a reading area and family entertainment available to all residents of military homes.
