Abstract(s)
Cross-Platform Technologies remains a viable alternative to native technologies, mainly when we are dealing with organizations and development teams with limitations. From an existent platform, Portal ISEP, the main goal of this project was to develop a mobile application to the whole ISEP academic community, offering a faster and easiest way to get necessary information from Portal. Since the existent application didn’t satisfy the necessities of the students, employees and teachers of the institution, and its maintenance was unaffordable for the existent development team, it became necessary to adopt a multiplatform technology. The work done focused on the development of two prototypes, in Apache Cordova and Xamarin, with the modules Login, News, User information and Logout implemented. After performing usability tests, it was possible to conclude that a mobile application of functional Portal will become an added-value for the academic community and to the institution.
