Abstract(s)
Lean methodologies have been implemented on a large scale in the industry and, over time, the results of their application are very positive. The main goal of this project is to make the process easier and more efficient by reducing all wastes by using lean methodologies applied to an aqueous base paint manufacturing unit. For this, it was fundamental to study the two equipmentās that are part of this section, evaluating the theoretical cadence of manufacturing and filling, the unplanned stops and the difficulties inherent in the processes. So, the proposed objectives are to define theoretical filling and manufacturing cadences, determine losses and main problems, seek to implement improvement opportunities, standardize tasks and develop a tool for recording and calculating OEE. In this sector still under-explored by the department of continuous improvement, the initial work points based on daily Kaizen have encountered some difficulties in the processes with a view to possible improvements both with respect to safety and the efficiency of the process. They were analyzed in order to improve the working conditions of operators and reduce the waste of resources. Implementing and applying Lean methodologies it was possible to achieve the objectives initially defined following the company's existing good practices in other sectors. The results achieved allowed to obtain records of efficiency of the sector and the implementation of improvements led to better security conditions and the normalization of some tasks with clear benefit to the process.
