Abstract(s)
O presente estudo aborda a evasão escolar no Instituto Federal de Mato Grosso (IFMT), explorando suas causas e consequências do ponto de vista da gestão e do impacto orçamentário. Justifica-se pela importância de compreender o fenômeno da evasão em instituições federais de ensino técnico e tecnológico, onde ela acarreta prejuízos significativos ao orçamento, à eficiência institucional e ao desenvolvimento regional. A metodologia utilizada foi predominantemente qualitativa, integrando análises documentais e de dados institucionais, além de entrevistas e questionários aplicados a gestores. Como resultado, identificou-se que as taxas de evasão variam entre os campi e cursos, Os cursos técnicos integrados ao ensino médio, registraram uma média de evasão de 33,17% e entre os anos de 2018 a 2023 o IFMT demonstra uma média de aproximadamente 40% de evasão ciclo com pouca variação em cada ano, destacando demanda estratégias de acompanhamento mais intensivas. A análise revelou que os programas de apoio financeiro têm impacto positivo, mas ainda insuficiente para garantir a permanência dos alunos. As propostas de melhoria incluem a flexibilização curricular e o fortalecimento das políticas de assistência estudantil, além da capacitação contínua dos gestores. Conclui-se que a redução da evasão exige uma abordagem integrada, envolvendo ações pedagógicas, sociais e institucionais mais eficazes para assegurar a sustentabilidade financeira e a qualidade do ensino no IFMT.
The present study addresses school dropout at the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso (IFMT), exploring its causes and consequences from the perspectives of management and budgetary impact. The justification lies in the importance of understanding the dropout phenomenon in federal institutions of technical and technological education, where it results in significant financial losses, reduced institutional efficiency, and hindered regional development. The methodology used was predominantly qualitative, integrating documentary analysis and institutional data, along with interviews and questionnaires applied to managers. As a result, it was found that dropout rates vary among campuses and courses. The integrated technical courses recorded an average dropout rate of 33.17%, while the IFMT demonstrated an average dropout cycle of approximately 40% between 2018 and 2023, with little variation each year, highlighting the need for more intensive monitoring strategies. The analysis revealed that financial support programs have a positive impact, but remain insufficient to ensure student retention. Improvement proposals include curriculum flexibility, strengthening student assistance policies, and continuous management training. It is concluded that reducing dropout rates requires an integrated approach, involving more effective pedagogical, social, and institutional actions to ensure financial sustainability and the quality of education at the IFMT.
