Este projeto artístico investiga os parâmetros formais e expressivos que numa determinada performance vocal se tornam indicadores expressivos do conteúdo emocional que se pretende transmitir e indaga como o cantor/performer poderá tornar-se consciente das suas expressões vocais ao apropriar-se desses indicadores expressivos para comunicar conteúdos emotivos com o público. A partir de um determinado repertório vocal artístico e lírico, nomeadamente a canção de língua portuguesa, foi testada a capacidade expressiva do cantor e analisada a comunicação nos seus aspetos performativos e também nas diferentes vertentes formais e expressivas da performance apresentada. De um ponto de vista prático, o processo de reconhecimento acústico de um determinado conteúdo emocional requer um software e hardware específicos, e informação tecnológica para lidar com os padrões complexos das diferentes expressões acústicas usadas para comunicar um determinado conteúdo emocional em performances artísticas, realizadas em tempo real. O recurso à combinação de uma análise quantitativa dos indicadores expressivos da performance apresentada com uma análise qualitativa relativa à leitura que o público fez da expressividade vocal utilizada pelo cantor/performer, permitiu algumas conclusões sobre os níveis de precisão e correspondência entre performer e público no estudo agora realizado.
This artistic project investigates the formal and expressive parameters that in a certain vocal performance become expressive cues of the emotional content that is intended to be transmitted and asks how the singer / performer can become aware of his vocal expressions by appropriating those expressive cues to communicate emotional content to the audience. Based on a specific artistic and lyrical vocal repertoire, namely the portuguese language song, the expressive capacity of the singer was tested, and the communication was analyzed in its performative aspects and also in the different formal and expressive aspects of the presented performance. From a practical point of view, the process of acoustic recognition of a certain emotional content requires specific software and hardware, and technological information to deal with the complex patterns of the different acoustic expressions used to communicate a certain emotional content in artistic performances, performed in real time. The use of a combination of a quantitative analysis of the expressive cues of the presented performance with a qualitative analysis of the audience's perception of the vocal expressiveness used by the singer / performer, allowed some conclusions about the levels of precision and correspondence between the performer and the audience in the study now accomplished.
