| dc.description.abstract | La biblioteca escolar es un servicio de informaciĆ³n bĆ”sico para todos los miembros de una comunidad educativa, que forma parte de los espacios docentes de los centros y de los procesos pedagĆ³gicos que tienen lugar en ellos. Las bibliotecas escolares funcionan como centros de recursos para las actividades de enseƱanza-aprendizaje, estĆ”n constituidas por un conjunto sistematizado y dinĆ”mico de servicios y fondos documentales que permiten a los usuarios desarrollar hĆ”bitos lectores y buscar y valorar las fuentes de informaciĆ³n, entre otras relevantes funciones. Los recursos de informaciĆ³n que albergan son uno de sus principales activos, pero si colecciĆ³n documental no estĆ” organizada, las tareas de bĆŗsqueda y localizaciĆ³n de la informaciĆ³n resultarĆ”n complicadas y la calidad de los recursos obtenidos, cuestionable. Los bibliotecarios deben conocer en profundidad las caracterĆsticas especĆficas del fondo documental y las fuentes disponibles; las tĆ©cnicas y herramientas adecuadas para procesar y tratar el fondo bibliogrĆ”fico, asĆ como los mĆ©todos de recuperaciĆ³n de la informaciĆ³n mĆ”s convenientes. En este contexto, el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar de forma pormenorizada los procesos de indizaciĆ³n y clasificaciĆ³n que se realizan en las bibliotecas escolares para procesar y recuperar la informaciĆ³n que albergan su colecciones, asĆ como describir las caracterĆsticas mĆ”s relevantes de las herramientas especĆficas que se usan en las bibliotecas escolares espaƱolas, brasileƱas y portuguesas, adaptadas a las caracterĆsticas de los usuarios que utilizan sus servicios y acuden a ellas para resolver necesidades de informaciĆ³n. Para lograr este propĆ³sito, se analiza el concepto de biblioteca escolar de forma crĆtica, se estudian sus funciones y se examinan las tĆ©cnicas y los instrumentos que permiten organizar la informaciĆ³n. Entre otras herramientas, se estudian listas de encabezamientos de materia como los Encabezamientos de materia para libros infantiles y juveniles y la Lista de Encabezamientos de materia para las bibliotecas pĆŗblicas; sistemas de clasificaciĆ³n, como la ClasificaciĆ³n Decimal Universal (ediciĆ³n de bolsillo) o la clasificaciĆ³n por centros de interĆ©s y tesauros especializados como el Tesauro de la EducaciĆ³n UNESCO-OIE y el Tesauro Europeo de la EducaciĆ³n, entre otros. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The school library is a basic information service to all members of an educational community that is part of the teaching environments and of the pedagogical processes where they occur. School libraries are like resource centers for teaching and learning activities, they are formed by a systematic and dynamic set of services and documentary resources that allow users to develop reading behaviors, to find and evaluate the information sources among other relevant functions. The information resources they have are one of their main assets, but if the document holdings are not arranged, the tasks of searching and location information will be difficult and the quality of the results will be questionable. The librarians must know in depth the specific characteristics of the document holdings, the available sources, the techniques and tools to process and treat them as well as the most appropriate methods of information retrieval.In this context, the aim of this paper is to analyze in detail the indexing and classifying processes that take place at the school libraries to process and retrieve information from their collections, as well as to describe the most relevant and specific tools used in Spanish, Brazilian and Portuguese libraries, adapted to their usersā characteristics. To achieve this goal, the concept of school library was analyzed, its function was studied and the techniques and tools that allow the information organization were examined. Among the tools, we studied the Subject Headings Lists for children and juvenilesā books and the Subject Headings List for public libraries, the Universal Decimal Classification System (paperback edition) or the classification by fields of interest and specialized thesauri like the Tesauro de la EducaciĆ³n UNESCO-OIE and the Tesauro Europeo de la EducaciĆ³n. | por |
