média empresa do setor metalomecânico português.
The metalworking industry in Portugal has become increasingly vulnerable due to uncertainties and strong influences from the international context and the technical demands of clients. To try to overcome this weakness, many organizations resort to project management tools. These tools allow for increased operational efficiency, making companies more capable and better prepared to respond to daily challenges. This dissertation aims to analyze a real case study of a small and medium-sized company in the Portuguese metalworking sector. This study examined the main gaps identified through direct observation, document analysis, and informal meetings with company managers. To try to solve the identified problems, seven project management tools, adapted to the size of the company, are proposed. These tools were selected and adapted to be simple, easy to implement, low-cost, and complementary to each other. Through this work, it is possible to conclude that the implementation of project management tools, adapted to the reality of each company, is possible without the need for substantial investments. These tools have the potential to improve company performance without the need for structural changes or the implementation of complex methodologies.
