Abstract(s)
180 itens.
atraso do desenvolvimento.
The early years of a child are crucial to her development. Early idenIficaIon of developmental risks and challenges is central to Imely intervenIon on adverse factors that interfere with the child’s development and well-being. However, the scarcity of development assessment tools for Educators has been a recurring theme in the literature. In this sense, this work aims: 1) to develop an Instrument - “ObservaIon Grid for Early Childhood Development for Educators” - aimed at Early Childhood Educators, allowing the early idenIficaIon of warning signs for children with three, four and five years, in the CogniIve, SocioemoIonal, CommunicaIon and Language and Sensory-Motor domains; 2) to evaluate the implementaIon of the observaIon grid and collect the Educators’ opinion about its importance and usability. These objecIves were achieved through two studies. In Study 1, the essenIal competences were defined to characterize the development of children between three and five years of age. For this, we used the Delphi Method with two rounds of consultaIon to a panel of eleven specialists, resulIng in the final version of the instrument composed of 180 items. In Study 2, eighteen Educators applied the GODPE to 181 students with typical development and at risk of developmental delay. The results indicate that the GODPE demonstrates good internal consistency and idenIfies staIsIcally significant differences in the levels of support need between students with typical development and at risk of developmental delay. The GODPE has been described by Educators as important and easy to use in their professional acIvity.
