Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação aborda princípios da antiga teoria musical ocidental, particularmente a grega. É analisada a sua relação com a Matemática e a Filosofia como a base para uma abordagem unificadora de diferentes parâmetros musicais tais como ritmo e altura. São expostas perspetivas relacionadas de autores mais recentes, dificuldades teóricas e práticas, assim como a aplicação dos princípios teóricos em algumas obras composicionais do autor.
This dissertation addresses principles of ancient Western music theory, particularly Greek. It is observed their connection with Mathematics and Philosophy, providing a basis for a unified approach of different musical parameters, such as time and rhythm. Other and more recent approaches are exposed, so as some practical difficulties, as well as the application of these principles in author’s composition works.
