Abstract(s)
The TPM - Total Productive Maintenance aims to improve the performance of companies, focusing on cutting costs to increase levels of productivity and quality. Strategic investments in maintenance can lead to better performance of the production system and improve the organization's competitive market position. However, to be effective, the TPM must be implemented throughout the company and with the guarantee of full support to workers, involving top management. The present dissertation, carried out in an industrial unit to produce natural corks, was developed with the objective of reducing losses and improving the productivity of the equipment, using the TPM implementation for this purpose. Within this methodology, greater focus was placed on the pillars of continuous improvement, preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance. Given the size of the production process and the amount of equipment that make it up, it was decided to choose a sector of activity. Based on the history of malfunctions, and after an analysis of the maintenance status, it was decided to intervene in DSL (separation of corks by quality). Before any attempt to present solutions, it was necessary to understand the functioning of the equipment, both from the perspective of the operator and the maintenance technician, as well as the main faults that characterized them. The work developed can be divided into two segments. In the first, an analysis was conducted on the causes of the most common malfunctions in the electronic choice equipment. This study resulted in the implementation of improvement actions. In the second, the preventive maintenance plans were restructured, as well as the introduction of autonomous maintenance plans and the start of shift checklist. During this process, standard operating procedure files were made to standardize and facilitate maintenance interventions. In addition, the equipment was also marked, so that it is easier to identify the intervention sites.
