Abstract(s)
O graffiti e a street art tornaram-se num fenómeno urbano universal, intercultural e multidisciplinar. O contributo da investigação científica aumentou consideravelmente o conhecimento desta cultura que, por sua vez, transformou a forma como vemos e participamos social e culturalmente a cidade. O objetivo geral desta tese é a criação de um projeto de empreendedorismo social, utilizando a cultura do graffiti e da street art como recurso agregador para a inclusão social, identidade local e empoderamento das comunidades. Para cumprir este propósito, realizou-se uma breve síntese da literatura existente sobre a cultura do graffiti e da street art, contudo significativa, para a perceção da sua evolução e envolvimento nos vários setores da sociedade contemporânea. Procedeu-se também à identificação de um conjunto de bens materiais e imateriais interligados na criação de sinergias culturais, tanto para benefício das populações locais como na atração de turistas, evidenciando-se como contributos relevantes para o desenvolvimento socioeconómico das comunidades. Por fim, a delimitação territorial da Área Metropolitana do Porto e correspondentes análises macro e micro ambientais, estabelecem as orientações para a implementação de um projeto empreendedor nas atividades culturais e criativas.
Graffiti and street art have become a universal, intercultural and multidisciplinary urban phenomenon. The contribution of scientific research has greatly increased the knowledge of this culture that has transformed the way we view and socially and culturally participate in the city. The general objective of this thesis is the creation of a social entrepreneurship project, using the graffiti and street art culture as an aggregating resource for social inclusion, local identity and community empowerment. In order to fulfill this purpose, a brief synthesis of the existing literature on graffiti culture and street art, however significant, was made for the perception of its evolution and involvement in the various sectors of contemporary society. The identification of a set of tangible and intangible assets linked to the creation of cultural synergies, both for the benefit of local populations and the attraction of tourists, are also important contributions to the socio-economic development of communities. Finally, the territorial delimitation of the Porto Metropolitan Area and corresponding macro and micro environmental analyses establish guidelines for the implementation of an entrepreneurial project in cultural and creative activities.
