Exploring the user-generated content data to improve quality management
Publication . Maia, Sara; Domingues, José Pedro Teixeira; Varela, Maria Leonilde R. Rocha; Fonseca, Luís Miguel
The focus of this research is to investigate if user-generated content (UGC) generated in the Booking platformcan support qualitymanagement improvement within the hospitality industry by increasing customer satisfaction and eliminating defects more efficiently. Hence, it contributes to understanding how data-driven companies can rely on customer data to focus on innovation and performance improvement to meet customer requirements, eliminate defects and increase customer satisfaction.
Literature review of decision models for the sustainable implementation of Robotic Process Automation
Publication . Patrício, Leonel; Ávila, Paulo; Varela, Leonilde; Cruz-Cunha, Maria Manuela; Pinto Ferreira, Luís; Bastos, João; Castro, Helio; Silva, José
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a rules-based system for automating business processes by software bots that mimic human interactions to relieve employees from tedious work. It was verified in the literature that there are few works related to RPA decision support models. This technology is in great growth and, therefore, it becomes important to study the evaluation of the implementation of RPA. The objective of this work is focused on a literature review for the identification and analysis of Robotic Process Automation implementation models. This work analyses some models or studies available in the literature and, in addition, analyses it from a perspective relating to the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) related to environmental, social and economic effects. Regarding the results obtained, it appears that there is still a lot of room to improve research in this field, for example, with regard to the development of an evaluation model for the implementation of the RPA, taking into account the TBL of the sustainability concept.
Manufacturing and Management Paradigms, Methods and Tools for Sustainable Industry 4.0-Oriented Manufacturing Systems
Publication . Varela, Leonilde; Ávila, Paulo; Castro, Helio; Putnik, Goran D.; Fonseca, Luís; Ferreira, Luís
In the current Industry 4.0 era (I4.0, for short) [1–3], manufacturing and management (M&M) paradigms, methods and tools should be wisely developed to fulfil sustainability issues, regarding not just economic but also social and environmental concerns by simultaneously fostering organizational efficiency excellence and transformational initiatives, therefore contributing to enduring business results. This Special Issue aims to provide new insights regarding manufacturing or management paradigms (strategies), methods, tools, and practices aligned with the contemporary necessity to create and implement sustainable I4.0 manufacturing systems. Each of the five selected papers of this Special Issue makes a novel contribution to that aim.
