Ribeiro, Nuno Gilberto Silva; Soares, RuiAs is commonly accepted, the success of any organization lies in the efficiency and effectiveness of their human capital, consequently, it’s necessary to understand the competence of this, before measuring or estimating the success of the organization itself. Therefore, with this project it’s intended to fulfill the update of the competency model of Grupo Entreposto, in order to improve the alignment of human resource processes with the goals of the organization, this potentiality, identified through the human resources function diagnostic, leveraged by external audit report on the performance system and rewards compensations, followed, by an empirical and theoretical analysis, in order to clarify the exact configuration of the potential and its purpose. After literature review, regarding to the needs of the organization and considered several strategic options, was opted for the top-down methodology in order to update the transversal competencies of the Grupo Entreposto and of the specific competencies in car retail and the definition of competencies profiles and respective levels of requirement for functional function/family. According to the strategic areas referred, it was made the development of strategic and operational planning, respective activities, tasks, data collection methods, necessary resources (human and material), and critical paths. After finished the planning, was made the implementation. At this stage, in some situations, certain difficulties have emerged, which led to the choice for critical paths defined. Throughout the implementation and at the end, the indicators that were evaluated have allowed to concluded that the project planned and implemented, reached the proposed aims.
