- Internacionalização de serviços: estudo de casoPublication . Reis, Diana Regina Alves; Pereira, Raquel Susana da CostaGlobalization has allowed the various societies to come closer together and, consequently, new economic, social and cultural opportunities have arisen for the various businesses, including the services sector. Sole Proprietors (ENI) have shown a growing interest in the internationalization of their activities, due to the growth and development that this aspect can bring to their business. Thus, the ENI's do not become dependent on the domestic market, because with the growing competitiveness and in order to ensure their survival, the external market proves to be a solution. Thus, the elimination of customs barriers accompanied by technological evolution, has boosted the internationalization of companies/ENI, service providers. The main objective of this study is to understand and analyze the various aspects of the internationalization process in the services sector. More specifically, using the qualitative methodology, through a double case study. Thus, by analyzing and comparing the internationalization strategies adopted by two ENIs, as well as the entry modes used, the factors that influence the decision to internationalize and the barriers faced by ENI service providers, it was possible to qualitatively evaluate the process. For the cases under study, the results indicate that entrepreneurs resort to direct exporting. Additionally, they argue that the trust established with the client is the support for their activity. Internationalization has become viable in the view of ENI for three reasons: economic growth, value creation in the provision of their services, and knowledge of the foreign language. However, the provision of services abroad was conditioned by variables impossible to predict: the emergence of a pandemic variable. In this situation, the economic stability of these entrepreneurs was affected, since their activity was mostly linked to the foreign market.
