- Ambiente IoT híbrido seguroPublication . LEMOS, PEDRO VASSALO; Sampaio, Adelaide Isabel Santos Vieira BragaIn the growing world of Internet of Things (IoT) and factory automation, managing devices in a centralized and efficient manner is crucial since factories have hundreds of thousands of devices per location. Many of these devices are not connected to the internet due to most factory’s restrictions and still need to be managed. As establishing an internet connection from these offline devices is not an option, a secure approach must be designed to manage these devices way. With this objective, this dissertation explores a way to implement this solution dividing it in 2 major components. An edge component that sits in a server inside the factory to manage these devices in a containerized manner, using Azure IoT Edge solution. And a cloud component that has the objective to securely integrate the new edge component into the current solution to ensure a secure hybrid environment that the clients can trust. This work results in a proposition of an edge component, as well as a refined architecture for the cloud resources. Both solutions are highly automated, enabling a reproducible environment on the cloud side and an easy configuration for the client on the edge server.
