Human Resource Management Systems provide great advantages for the management of Human Resource related data. Many times, they offer a centralized solution which helps management saving time during the process of managing their employees, payroll and even their onboarding and recruiting. Saving time on management by automating manual operations performed by the Human Resources personnel can benefit the companies on their budget. A real company which had a manual process of managing their internship programs proposals were on the origin of this work. Since they already have great part of their Human Resource management automated by a Human Resource Information System, thus, this dissertation is focused on the development of a new application for the submission and further management of internship proposals at the organization. After a study of the existent solutions, it was concluded that the SAP Cloud Application Programming model would be used to develop an end-to-end cloud application for managing the internship proposals of the company. An internship proposal application was developed using this same framework. It allows the centralization and automation of the process of submitting internship proposals and the maintenance of internship related data and it is integrated with the HRIS system of the company keeping the data about the enterprise resources up to date. It also allows the approval of projects and their management. The application also permits the creation, update and deletion of candidate data, cycles and institutions, including filtering capabilities. The quality and efficiency of the implementation was evaluated by the final users, as well as the main use cases were tested by end-to-end testing, concluding a satisfactory implementation which met the requirements.
