Este trabalho aborda os desafios inerentes à indústria de semicondutores da empresa ATEP Amkor Technology Portugal, S.A., onde a constante evolução de produtos exige processos de produção flexíveis. Os processos desta indústria são altamente complexos e de difícil gestão, pois cada produto segue a sua própria sequência de processos, onde podem partilhar equipamentos. Esta complexidade gera condições variáveis para os equipamentos, resultando em distinções nos parâmetros de processamento. As informações sobre a disponibilidade dos equipamentos são cruciais, mas atualmente enfrentam desafios significativos, uma vez que não estão sistematizadas e centralizadas, oque gera transtornos no processo, procura demorada da informação dispersa em vários documentos separados pelos departamentos, informação duplicada ou desatualizada e, em casos mais extremos, leva a falhas de comunicação, produtos com defeito e redução de rendimento. O objetivo deste projeto é desenvolver uma ferramenta de gestão de disponibilidade de equipamentos que melhore os processos internos, que controle a manufatura e que garanta um planeamento de capacidade eficaz. Neste sentido, realizou-se uma análise aprofundada dos processos da indústria de semicondutores com vista ao desenvolvimento da especificação da nova ferramenta, intitulada Equipment Release Matrix (ERM). Esta ferramenta oferece uma série de benefícios, incluindo a capacidade de gerir e controlar a disponibilidade de equipamentos no processo de manufatura em tempo real, capacidade de apresentar informações de forma estruturada e automática, tornando a tomada de decisão relacionada à compra de equipamentos mais eficaz. Além disso, permite um acesso rápido e transparente à informação, facilitando a comunicação entre utilizadores de áreas e departamentos distintos, enquanto descentraliza responsabilidades, permitindo que os departamentos aloquem recursos de maneira mais eficiente. Adicionalmente, auxilia na redução de erro humano de colocação do produto no equipamento indesejado e oferece a capacidade de gerar relatórios dedicados à gestão da manufatura dentro da empresa. Por fim, a implementação da aplicação ERM minimiza riscos de falhas de produção, reduz desperdícios e melhora a qualidade dos produtos. A ferramenta proposta encontra-se, neste momento, em versão de teste.

The processes in this industry are highly complex and challenging to manage, as each product follows its own sequence of processes, often sharing equipment. This complexity results in variable conditions for the equipment, leading to distinctions in processing parameters. Information regarding equipment availability is crucial, but currently faces significant challenges, as it is not systematized and centralized. This leads to disruptions in the process, prolonged searches for information scattered across various departmental documents, duplicated, or outdated information, and, in more extreme cases, communication failures, defective products, and reduced yields. The objective of this project is to develop an equipment availability management tool that enhances internal processes, that controls manufacturing, and that ensures effective capacity planning. In this regard, an in-depth analysis of semiconductor industry processes was conducted, leading to the specification of the new tool, named Equipment Release Matrix (ERM). This tool offers several benefits, including real-time management and control of equipment availability in the manufacturing process, the ability to present information in a structured and automated manner, making equipment-related decision-making more effective. Additionally, it allows for quick and transparent access to information, facilitating communication among users from different areas and departments, while also decentralizing responsibilities, enabling departments to allocate resources more efficiently. Furthermore, It assists in minimizing human error when allocating products to unintended equipment and provides the capability to generate reports dedicated to manufacturing management within the company. Finally, the implementation of the ERM application minimizes the risks of production failures, reduces waste, and enhances product quality. The proposed tool is currently in a testing phase.
