Abstract(s)
In an increasingly competitive business environment, not oblivious to market fluctuations, the margin of error acceptable to companies becomes increasingly smaller. Therefore, it is essential to adopt tools that respond effectively and efficiently to paradigm shifts that may eventually arise. Additionally, the constant pressure from globalization, associated with the specialization of the workforce, leads to a constant need for change and innovation. Particularly in human resources departments, which must not only try to anticipate these changes, but also plan an effective response to maintain the stability of the organizations’ people. Within this scope, the recruitment and selection process is indispensable for the success of organizations, and there is a continuous need to improve the methods applied and the technological instruments adopted for this purpose. The current paper describes the process of analysis and development of a new information system for the management of all steps, processes and sub-processes related to the recruitment and selection of human resources. In addition, it is intended that the system be highly configurable in order to meet the needs of different customers arising, for example, from disparate organizational structures and/or from the adoption of different methods/work flows within the organization itself. Finally, the system developed was consequently tested and successfully deployed in a real client, proving to be able to respond to its expectations.
