Abstract(s)
Currently, productivity is present in an exhaustive way in the industrial environment. The need to bring the final product closer to what the customer wants, that is, produce with more quality, the desire to be more ecient and constantly improve processes by reducing waste, are factors that are associated with productivity and must be included in the management policies of a organization. Nevertheless, the factors that dierentiate current organizations are those that consider the human being a fundamental element in the production process. Thus, concepts such as ergonomics and health and safety at work must be combined with productivity. The main objective of this thesis/dissertation is the development of a mobile application inspired by a workstation assessment tool that integrates performance with the worker’s health and well-being. This development consists of an improvement of the tool, adapting it to a more current context, promoting its convenience and eectiveness. The tool is called ErgoSafeCI and consists of ten items that are considered essential to have a lean, safe and ergonomic workplace. This assessment instrument supports the implementation of continuous improvement projects, specifically the implementation of the Lean philosophy. This tool helps practitioners assess the implementation of lean principles and the safety issues in their processes. It also allows managers to evaluate their business and identify the priority areas to improve according to the previously defined company’s aims. Is outlined the emergence and applicability of lean philosophy, as well as methods and tools based on it. Keywords: Lean Manufacturing, Lean-based audits, Lean assessment tools, Ergonomics, Health and Safety, Mobile application, Workstation assessment.
