A logística é um elemento crítico na cadeia de abastecimento, que desempenha um papel
fundamental no desempenho geral das organizações. O projeto foi desenvolvido na empresa líder
mundial no setor da cortiça e como tal possui elevados níveis de competitividade e exigências de
qualidade tornando assim a otimização de processos logísticos essencial para garantir a eficiência
operacional e a satisfação do cliente. Neste contexto, esta tese de mestrado concentra-se na
otimização dos processos logísticos na indústria corticeira. O projeto desenvolvido divide-se
essencialmente em dois subprojectos. O primeiro subprojecto, foca-se na otimização da sequência
das rotas de picking nomeadamente do picking de separação, recorrendo ao Excel e à linguagem
de programação Visual Basic for Applications, de modo a criar um portal para visualização de
remessas, através da heurística do vizinho mais próximo, para obter a melhor sequência de picking.
O segundo subprojeto foca-se no desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta em PowerApps, para
otimizar não só o fluxo de informação entre os diversos intervenientes, como ainda melhorar a
qualidade da informação e consequentemente promover a redução do stock livre. Os resultados
mostram que a utilização dessas ferramentas pode melhorar significativamente o desempenho dos
processos logísticos da indústria corticeira, reduzindo custos e aumentando a eficiência
operacional. Além disso, as ferramentas desenvolvidas podem ser aplicadas noutras empresas do
setor e noutras indústrias que enfrentem desafios semelhantes nos seus processos logísticos.
Logistics is a critical element in the supply chain that plays a fundamental role in the overall performance of organizations. The project was developed in the world-leading company in the cork sector, which has high levels of competitiveness and quality requirements, making the optimization of logistics processes essential to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. In this context, this master's thesis focuses on optimizing logistics processes in the cork industry. The developed project is essentially divided into two sub-projects. The first sub-project focuses on optimizing the sequence of picking routes, more specifically in separation picking, using Excel and Visual Basic for Applications programming language to create a portal for shipment visualization and obtaining the best picking sequence through the nearest neighbor heuristic. The second sub project focuses on developing a PowerApps tool to improve not only information flow between stakeholders, but also to improve information quality, and consequently promote the reduction of free stock. The results show that the use of these tools can significantly improve the performance of logistics processes in the cork industry, reducing costs and increasing operational efficiency. Additionally, the methodology developed for implementing the tools can be applied to other companies in the sector and in other industries facing similar challenges in their logistics processes.
