Abstract(s)
This work aims to analyze and evaluate the application of the horizontal Jet Grouting technique to support underground excavation fronts, based on a case study of the Pink Line of Metro do Porto, specifically the Hospital Sto. António – Liberdade section. The dissertation presents a practical approach based on the professional experience acquired during the execution of the work, which includes a detailed description of the execution stages, such as drilling, injection, and analysis and control of the operational parameters, using the Jean Lutz system. The study compares the data collected, including drilling and injection times, cement consumption, injection pressure, and reflux density, analyzing the correlation between these parameters throughout the process. In addition, a productivity analysis is carried out, evaluating the number of meters drilled, the number of shifts required for each treatment, the total downtime, and the average feed rate. The dissertation concludes with proposals for improvement in the future implementation of the technique, highlighting the importance of continuous quality control and optimization of operating parameters to increase efficiency and operational safety and reduce the costs involved.
