The increasing competitiveness of global markets and the growing need for continuous operational improvement have reinforced the importance of optimizing logistics processes, particularly in warehousing and order-picking operations. In this context, the picking process plays a crucial role, as it represents one of the most critical and costly activities in warehouse management, directly influencing productivity, operational costs, and customer service levels. This work was developed within the scope of an internship carried out at Rangel Logistics Solutions, operating at the Super Bock Group facilities, with the primary objective of analysing and identifying opportunities for optimization in the warehouse picking area. To achieve this goal, operational data related to picking movements and operator productivity were collected and processed using the SAP system. The adopted methodology included the application of ABC classification of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) based on visit frequency, product type analysis, the development of heatmaps for the visual representation of operational activity, and the assessment of the complexity of picking tasks performed by operators. These approaches enabled the characterization of product movement patterns, the identification of high-activity operational zones, and a better understanding of the factors influencing picking performance. The results highlight significant differences in SKU movement frequency and reveal opportunities for improvement regarding warehouse layout organization and product allocation. The combined use of the applied methodologies provided a comprehensive view of the operation, supporting the identification of measures capable of increasing operational efficiency, reducing unnecessary travel distances, and enhancing decision-making in warehouse management. It can be concluded that the application of data analysis tools and logistics management methodologies constitutes an important support for the optimization of picking operations, contributing to increased productivity and improved overall supply chain performance.
