Abstract(s)
estar presente no mercado represente vantagem competitiva.
The furniture industry has various branches and contributions from different areas of expertise for the development of its products. Since the emergence of large-scale production companies, such as Ikea, the furniture industry has undergone adaptations, and common producers have had to adjust their products to be more sophisticated and of higher quality, gaining a competitive advantage over large-scale production companies. The various market segments of the furniture industry have seen developments in recent decades, driven by the need for mass customization. In the design of extendable tables, there have been developments in mechanisms and modes of operation that reflect parameters of quality and sophistication, difficult to replicate by large-scale production companies at a competitive price for their target buyers. Among the various types of mechanisms available in the market, this dissertation seeks to develop and study a mechanism in which the extension occurs at the ends of the table.
