Abstract(s)
O Lean green combina
ferramentas Lean green e Economia Circular a implementar.
ambientais, a redução do impacto negativo no ecossistema e o fomento à responsabilidade social
corporativa.
The implementation of Lean green methodologies in the Circular Economy is an approach to optimize the environmental and economic performance of companies and industries. Lean green combines Lean production principles and sustainable development, aiming to eliminate waste and improve energy efficiency and resource management. Its foundation includes the implementation of Lean technologies such as renewable energy sources and natural resource conservation. The objective of this work is to investigate, through a structured literature review, how Lean green can support or hinder the implementation and sustainability of the Circular Economy in organizations. The thesis aims to explore the concepts of Lean green and Circular Economy, as well as their relationship and integration, for mutual benefit. Subsequently, a roadmap of Lean green and Circular Economy tools will be defined. This dissertation presents a comprehensive and innovative methodology for the improvement roadmap of an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant. Through the application of this methodology, companies from various sectors can address the challenges associated with industrial effluent treatment, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, reducing the negative impact on the ecosystem, and promoting corporate social responsibility. Throughout the process, various environmental problems and impacts associated with the operation of the treatment plant were identified, ranging from energy consumption to the use of chemicals and waste management. To address these challenges, concrete actions based on Circular Economy and Lean green principles were proposed, promoting the reduction of volatile organic compound emissions, the incorporation of waste into production processes, among others. All these actions have the potential to increase energy efficiency, reduce water consumption, decrease carbon emissions, and minimize environmental impact. Therefore, efficient management, the adoption of advanced technologies, and compliance with environmental regulations can lead to substantial improvements in the performance of industrial wastewater treatment plants, making it possible to achieve more sustainable goals without compromising the quality of wastewater treatment.
