A instalação Boots é composta por 3 filmes anamórficos de 16mm, a cores, com som ótico: um falado em inglês, outro em francês e o terceiro em alemão. Cada filme tem aproximadamente zo minutos. A forma como a instalação está desenhada obriga à colocação de um filme por Compartimento.
Tacita Dean (1965, Canterbury, Reino Unido) filmou este trabalho em 2002, na Casa de Serralves, no Porto, Portugal. Este texto está relacionado com o tema de um projeto de investigação “motivado pela prática” (practice-led) em curso - “A Impossibilidade da Não-Narrativa” - e o seu desenvolvimento destaca paralelismos entre a obra de Tacita Dean e o trabalho de investigação do autor deste texto. Este texto está em desenvolvimento e resultará numa versão mais longa a ser publicada, em inglês.
The installation “Boots” is made out of three 16mm colour anamorphic films, with optical sound: English version; French version; German version. Each one has approximately twenty minutes and is spoken in the original language. The set up of the installation requires one room per film. Tacita Dean (1965, Canterbury, UK) shot the films that compose the installation Boots in 2002, in Casa de Serralves, Porto, Portugal. This text is related to the theme of an undergoing practice-led research project - “The lmpossibility of Non-Narrative" - and its development highlights the parallelisms between Tacita Dean's oeuvre and the author`s research work. This text is in development and will result in a longer version to be published in English.
