- Investimento direto estrangeiro captado do tipo Greenfield em países em desenvolvimentoPublication . Ferreira, Catarina Isabel Costa; Silva, Armando Mendes Jorge Nogueira daForeign Direct Investment is an investment made to obtain a long term interest, in companies operating outside the country of the investor's economy. It is an essential component of capital flows and is considered one of the most important channels through which financial globalization benefits economies. Thus, Foreign Direct Investment has as its particularity the opportunity for the investor to influence the actions of the host country, thus becoming the main mode of entry into international business. This study aims to analyze the impact of political risk on greenfield foreign direct investment in developing countries. To this end, a quantitative methodology was used through regression models with panel data and in particular the dynamic GMM model. The results suggest that to sustain and promote FDI inflows, developing country governments must ensure that they remain attractive to investment, offering not only a level playing field for investors, more dynamic domestic markets, but above all more political stability, reducing the military's involvement in politics and bureaucracy in the state administrative machinery.
