Abstract(s)
This is an account of the process of development of a project in Education and Social Intervention carried out at the "Casa da Amizade” insertion community. Both the project and subsequent report follow mainly participatory action research methodology guidelines, focusing on intervention and research practices of an emancipatory nature within the field of Social Education. The approach to this group of actors from disadvantaged social classes was based on Informal Education and driven by horizontal democratic participation. In order to provide a response to the diversity in access to knowledge and find ways of enhancing said knowledge, the approach adopted was characterised by individualised forms of educational intervention, awareness regarding particular forms of expression and different learning times. Based on a critical outlook regarding more hierarchical approaches to fieldwork, this report describes an attempt to identify individual paths and enhance skills forgotten at some point in life paths marked by social exclusion.
