O presente relatório retrata a minha experiência durante o estágio curricular
desenvolvido na produtora Bando a Parte entre novembro de 2022 e fevereiro de 2023,
onde desempenhei, sobretudo, tarefas relacionadas a montagem de dois filmes
documentais.
Complementando a descrição do periodo de estágio, onde se abordam os
diferentes projetos em que estive envolvido, percorrendo em detalhe as funções
assumidas e os métodos aplicados, este relatório contempla ainda uma componente
investigativa que se irá incidir na montagem aplicada ao cinema documental, mais
precisamente na forma como o espaço representado possibilita a criação de significado
e desenvolvimento temático.
Partindo do conceito literário de cronótopo, desenvolvido por Mikhail Bakhtin e
aplicado ao cinema documental por Michael Chanan, esta parte do relatório irá lançar
uma breve exploração as potencialidades do tratamento espacial particulares ao cinema
de não-ficção, recorrendo para isso a analise do filme Suzanne Daveau (2019), de Luísa
Homem.
This report details my internship at the production company Bando a Parte, where I mostly worked on the editing of two documentary films between November 2022 and February 2023. Following my overview of the various other projects in which I was involved, this report will include an investigative section focusing on editing in documentary cinema, specifically on how montage can articulate the treatment of representational space for the creation of meaning and thematic development. Using Mikhail Bakhtin's literary concept of chronotope, as applied to documentary studies by Michael Chanan, this section of the report will provide a brief exploration of the specific possibilities of spatial treatment in non-fiction films, concluding with an analysis of the film Suzanne Daveau (2019), by Luisa Homem.
