Abstract(s)
This report was developed as part of the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES), integrated into the Master's Degree in Teaching Music Education in Basic Education, at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. It is organised into three chapters. The first chapter reflects on the various observations I made in Music Education (ME) classes in different 2nd Cycle Basic Education (CEB) schools, emphasising the infrastructure of each one and the teaching practices observed. The second chapter begins by characterising the school and the class in which I carried out my PES, followed by a reasoned reflection on my teaching practice during this school year. The third chapter is dedicated to my research work entitled "The perspective of students and teachers on Music Education in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. A case study of the Augusto Gil Basic School". The aim of this study is to understand the perspective of the students and teachers of the 2nd CEB in the aforementioned school on music education, so that I can identify the biggest problems and find solutions so that, during my professional career, I am able to motivate students more and more in this subject area. As such, 111 questionnaires were sent to 5th and 6th grade students at the Augusto Gil Primary School, and 3 teachers who taught here during this school year were interviewed
