Abstract(s)
The present paper aims to describe the main activities developed during the internship arising between the period of October 9th, 2017 and October 8th, 2018 at Bosch Building Technologies Plant in Ovar. The internship was held at the CLP2 (Customers Logistics and Planning) department, and its activities were focused on production planning and control and customers management. Throughout this work the theoretical themes related to the internship context are exposed, and the main activities developed are described, as well as a critical reflection of them. In a theoretical perspective, the Industry 4.0 paradigm is analyzed, taking in consideration its influence in revolutionizing the models of business management and industrial production, which is taking competitiveness and the connection of the physical and virtual worlds to new levels. It is also analyzed the main concepts related to industrial management as well as production planning and control. Subsequently it is done a description of the company and its core processes, followed by the description of the main activities, tasks and responsibilities carried out throughout the internship. As a conclusion, it can be noted that Bosch presents efficient processes in the operations management field, focusing its efforts on quality, customer satisfaction, and obtaining results, incorporating in their activities a constant environmental and sustainable concern, supported by a zero wastes vision targeting the continuous improvement culture. This gives to the group competitive advantage. However, Bosch Ovar has yet a long development path ahead to incorporate Industry 4.0 onto its processes and to develop more autonomous processes.
