Durante essa viagem foram recolhidas, imagens, sons e experiências que servem de matéria prima à reflexão e experimentação audiovisual que dá corpo a este projeto.‌‌ Aplicando uma metodologia influenciada pela interdisciplinaridade e transdisciplinaridade, são também evocados os conceitos de sinergia, sincretismo e sinestesia retrabalhados por Gene Youngblood em Expanded Cinema (1970), como fundamentação para a criação audiovisual (A/V).‌‌O trabalho criado dialoga com diferentes vertentes, conceptuais e abstratas. Integra na criação sonora e visual elementos “reais” e outros criados a partir de síntese eletrónica construída a partir de um sintetizador modular de som e imagem.‌‌Motivada sob a ideia que o espaço, o tempo e a forma como se expõe os objetos audiovisuais, são elementos fundamentais na sua conceção e transmissão, a criação de vídeo é pensada em formato expandido onde as relações entre som e imagem são exploradas a partir da sincronia, diacronia e disrupção, procurando promover uma experiência sensorial e poética.‌‌ O corpo de texto deste trabalho concebe-se através de descrições subjetivas acerca das observações e reflexões do autor durante a viagem e das especificidades técnicas e tecnológicas da criação artística, complementando a produção do objeto vídeo com uma reflexão crítica sobre a forma como se constitui.‌‌The (Im)possible Hermitism: an A/V Journey Around Nature and Technology is an artistic research project that, based on a travel experience, intertwines literature, autoethnography, sounds and images in a rhizomatic proposal. This project is built on conceptual tensions, interactions and intersections among its various constitutive elements.‌‌Inspired by Henry David Thoreau's seminal work Walden, or Life in the Woods, the author undertook a journey in the USA, with the destination being Walden Pond in Massachusetts. During this journey, images, sounds, and experiences were collected, serving as raw material for the audiovisual reflection and experimentation that form to this project.‌‌Applying a methodology influenced by interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, the concepts of synergy, syncretism, and synesthesia reworked by Gene Youngblood in Expanded Cinema (1970) are also invoked as the foundation for audiovisual (A/V) creation. The work created dialogues with different conceptual and abstract aspects. It integrates into its sound and visual creation both "real" elements and others created from electronic synthesis, built from a modular sound and image synthesizer.‌‌Driven by the idea that space, time, and the way audiovisual objects are presented are fundamental elements in their conception and transmission, the video creation is designed in an expanded format where the relationships between sound and image are explored through synchrony, diachrony, and disruption. This approach seeks to promote a sensory and poetic experience.
