O presente relatório espelha o desenvolvimento do projeto “Cuidar Voluntário: Um outro olhar”, assente na metodologia de Investigação-Ação Participativa e que teve como finalidade a promoção de um envelhecimento saudável em casa e na comunidade [Ageing in Place], com segurança e independência, num ambiente que a pessoa reconheça como seu. Para alcançar esta finalidade foram desenvolvidas visitas domiciliárias e um encontro grupal. Pretendeu-se diminuir ou modificar os discursos depreciativos relativamente ao envelhecimento, através de reflexões constantes. O projeto “Cuidar Voluntário: Um outro olhar” permitiu que as pessoas começassem a tomar consciência dos seus discursos e das suas ações, adotando perspetivas mais positivas sobre o envelhecimento e a velhice, bem como sobre si, contribuindo para o seu envelhecimento saudável, em casa e na comunidade.“Cuidar Voluntário" is a project of the Municipality of Santo Tirso that promotes the practice of volunteer work, aiming to support older people in situations of isolation/dependence, improve their quality of life and also their well-being. This report reflects the development of the project "Cuidar Voluntário: Um outro olhar" (Voluntary Care: Another Look), based on the methodology of Participatory Action Research and aimed at promoting healthy Ageing in Place, with safety and independence, in an environment that the person recognizes as their own. To achieve this aimed, home visits and a group meeting were developed. It was intended to reduce or modify the depreciative speeche regarding aging, through constant reflections.
